REBEL OG REVIEW OF REGIONS/ PROPOSALS FOR IMPLEMENTION FROM 2019
October 25, 2018
After many years, Coiste Chorcai have finally accepted that the East Region, where we play most underage games, is too big, with over 2,000 fixtures to complete every year and has now been reviewed. This document outlines proposed changes, creating a new Mid Region. From the attached document you can see that we are now on the western edge of East Region. However, it is proposed to get rid of P2A grade in Central, these clubs being absorbed into the new Mid and East A Regions with the intention of improving standards in A grade. These are major structural changes proposed affecting all. Reduction of Regions will mean more manageable competitions with less travel involved. The introduction of P2A teams into A grade will no doubt increase standards of play. There are many positives but there are also potential pitfalls if Gradings are not considered carefully by clubs and especially the Gradings Committee Please have a read and feel free to message us on your views, good or bad. These will have to be accepted by majority vote of clubs at County Board level before acceptance and implementation in 2019 on a year trial basis.
