County Committee Meeting 30.04.2019

The County Committee met 30.04.2019. All Ireland Scór Champions in Ceol Uirlise Kilshannig opened the meeting with two tunes. On behalf of the County Board, the Chairperson congratulated them on their win and thanked them for attending. She also complimented St. James’, Millstreet and Kanturk on reaching the All-Ireland Finals.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted, and matters arising were dealt with. The Progress Report was also adopted.
Reports were read from a number of recent inter-county challenge games, and Ger O’Sullivan (Dromtarriffe )was appointed manager of the Cork Junior Footballers, along with selectors Donal McCarthy (Valley Rovers), Jim Nolan (Castlehaven ) and Christy Kearney (Nemo Rangers/UCC) .
The CCC report was dealt with and a number of queries answered. The round 2 & 3 Championship draws were confirmed for May 28th. The Runaí complimented Stephen Forrest for the preparation of Pairc Ui Rinn for the club games on TV. The Chairperson also thanked Stephen Forrest and his team, along with all who were involved in the recent work on Pairc Ui Chaoimh, and reported that recent pitch inspections had been very positive and that Cork looked forward to hosting the Cork v Tipperary games on May 12th.
The meeting heard a report from the most recent Central Council meeting and various matters were raised under any other business including the following:
• Féile: Cork host the Féile hurling on the weekend of June 7th, and dates were announced for the launch and roadshow.
• A review of Rebel Óg is currently underway.
• Good wishes were extended to varrious Cork teams out shortly in Championships
The meeting concluding with the passing of a number of votes of sympathy.
The next meeting takes place on May 28th.
