96FM/C103 GAA Sports Star March award for Linda Collins

April 27, 2018

March award for Linda Collins;

Cork’s impressive run to the Division 1 Camogie League Final produced some excellent displays none more so than the consistency of Linda Collins and this was acknowledged when the Courcey Rovers player was presented with the 96FM/C103 GAA Sports Star of the Month award for March in association with the Rochestown Park Hotel.

Linda was thrilled to be honoured “I am delighted to receive this very prestigious award and my thanks to all who helped make it possible, the Cork management team who have put tremendous time into our team and also my own club for their continued support at all times.”

Linda is also the 2nd member from Courcey Rovers to win a monthly award as outstanding hurler Vincent Hurley was honoured a number of years ago.

Ronan Dwane Coaching Officer Cork County Board, “ I would like to offer my congratulations to Linda on this well deserved award and also the Cork Camogie teams who have enjoyed outstanding success in recent years, and I would like to wish them all the best in the upcoming C’ship, and of course our thanks to the sponsors for their ongoing promotion of our games.”

Diarmuid Vaughan of the Rochestown Park Hotel and Kieran Mc Geary 96FM also congratulated Linda on her well deserved accolade and wished the Cork Camogie Board continued success for the rest of the season.

The function was attended by family members and a number of Officers from Linda’s club Courcey Rovers, while also were Paudie Murray and Niall Collins from the Cork Management team.

Camogie Board officers in attendance were Marion Mc Carthy, Sandra Corcoran and Sile Golden along with 96FM Camogie Correspondent Mary Newman.

Linda now joins the previous monthly winners, former County Board Treasurer Pearse Murphy in January and the joint February recipients Lorcan O’Neill Kanturk and Matthew Dilworth Knocknagree, as the line up for the overall award winner for 2018 gets underway.
