Review of County Bye-Laws

May 15, 2019

A sub-committee of the County Board Executive is currently conducting a review of the County Bye-laws, which can be viewed here: http://gaacork.ie/contentPage/10048051/county_bye-laws2019.

Submissions in relation to bye-laws which need to be amended, deleted or added may be sent via email to chairperson.cork@gaa.ie by close of business on Wednesday, May 29th.

Areas currently covered by bye-law include County Convention, the County Committee (including terms of officers, composition of sub-committees, date of first meeting each year etc), finance, some aspects of competitions organisation, grading of players, transfers (already reviewed and updated last year), appeals and objections.

NB: As per Rule 3.17 T.O., bye-laws must be submitted to Croke Park for approval and "A County Bye-Law shall not be contrary to a Rule in the Official Guide. They shall not place a restriction on when Club Fixtures are played or govern postponement of fixtures, as such matters constitute powers of the Competitions Control Committee."
