Daragh Moran March award winner;

May 17, 2019

The recent Dr Harty Cup Final between CBC and Midleton CBS attracted a crowd of over 7,000 to Pairc Ui Rinn in what was a unique and historic afternoon.

At the end of a highly entertaining contest Midleton CBS emerged as deserving winners, and they had many stand out performers.

Daragh Moran was one of them and in recognition of this he was presented with the 96FM/C103 GAA Sports Star award for March in association with the Rochestown Park Hotel.

In accepting the award Daragh, said “I am thrilled to be honoured here today, but in many respects I represent the team, management and the school and my thanks to everyone who helped make the win possible.”

For County Board Development Officer Pat Horgan it was an extra special as so many of his fellow club members from Midleton were involved.

But it was more about Midleton “it was a wonderful occasion and represented all that is good about under-age hurling in Cork, sincere congratulations to Daragh and his team mates on their excellent win.”

Pat also paid tribute to 96FM/C103 and Rochestown Park Hotel for their ongoing support of our games which is much appreciated.

Tom Tobin Rochestown Park Hotel and Kieran Mc Geary 96FM also congratulated Daragh and Midleton CBS wishing them continued success for the future.

 A number of Daragh’s team mates were in attendance as were management members ilan Cooney and James Mulcahy, Isabel Keane 96FM, Joseph Blake County Board PRO and Munster Council Treasurer Pearse Murphy.

Daragh now join’s January winner Charleville’s Daniel O’Flynn, and February’s recipients UCC duo Cian Kiely and Shane Kingston in the race for the overall award.

The 2020 gala banquet will be held on the 31st January and we are delighted that the guest of honour on the night will be GAA President John Horan.
