County Committee Report

June 19, 2019

The County Committee met on June 16th. The minutes  were taken as read and adopted.  Arising from the minutes, the Cathaoirleach complimented all involved in the recent Féile na nÓg hosted by Cork, and secretary of the Féile Committee Richard Murphy spoke on this and thanked everyone for their assistance and involvement.

The Runaí read out match reports from various inter-county teams. The Chairperson spoke about the success of the of the recent Cork U20 football game played in Clonakilty as part of the John Kerins Cup competition, and thanked Clonakilty for hosting the game. She noted the early exit of the Cork Minor hurlers from Championship despite only losing one game by a single point, and wished the various Cork teams all the best in upcoming games, particularly the Minor and Senior footballers due to play their Munster Finals on Saturday night, and also the Cork Junior Footballers whose Munster Final takes place on Wednesday 26th.

The Runaí gave a CCC update and advised that an updated Championship programme was almost finalised.

Proposals from the Strategic Plan Steering Committee in relation to Rebel Óg were outlined to delegates and will be emailed to clubs this week. Feedback will be taken at the next Board meeting, and it was announced that the October County Board meeting was to be brought forward to October 1st and designated a Special Convention for the purposes of voting on bye-law changes which may be necessary to deliver the proposals.

The Cathaoirleach also informed delegates that that a discussion on bye-laws would take place at the next County Board meeting, with proposals to be brought to the Board at the August meeting.

The Cork Senior Football team for the Munster Football final was read out, and the Progress Report was approved. The Cathaoirleach noted that the Runaí had been appointed to the Uachtarán’s new fixtures committee.

The meeting closed with votes of sympathy.

The next meeting will be held on July 16th.
